Our web server is constantly backed up to a completely redundant server in a different city. The health of the primary server is constantly monitored by a third server. If there is a failure of the primary server the web app service is automatically transferred to the backup server. With this setup we accomplish virtually 100% up time for the web app. 

Additionally, we added our Direct Connect and Local Connect features in firmware release 4.00.001 for use when experiencing connectivity issues.
