How to determine if the issue you are having with your temperature probe not displaying a reading is a failed probe or broken jack.
1. Power up your Flame Boss® controller and plug the pit probe into the pit jack and the meat probe into the meat jack. Note the reading that is displayed for each of the probes.
2. Exchange the probes. Plug the pit probe into the meat jack and the meat probe into the pit jack. Note the reading that is displayed for each of the probes.
If a probe does not display a temperature reading in either jack, while the other probe does, then one probe has failed. If both probes display a reading of "---" or "Low" or "Hi" in one jack and a reading in the other jack, then we know it is a defective jack.
